Today we had to say goodbye to Nicole, Bill, Liam and Chewie. It was a great time with all. We thoroughly enjoyed taking one for the team and watching the grandson while the kids had some free time. Heading east and north out of Los Angeles the traffic was super light. Quickly we found ourselves in the middle of the Mojave Desert where temperatures rose to a sultry 112 degrees. I definitely wouldn’t want to have car troubles out in this desolate place. After a few hours we crossed into Nevada stopping at the border oasis for some gas and food. Continuing through the desert we eventually made our way through a small section of Arizona and finally into Utah where we stopped in Salt Lake City for the night. Tomorrow we will head out and get back to Hamilton MT where I can resume my ride the following day. The forecasts are looking great there was some rain the other day and the air quality is back in the green.

Left California today saying goodbye to my grandson and my daughter and son in love. My very quick blunt summary of the drive. California off the coast going northeast was ok. Nevada, desert boring with no green just scrub brush again. Passing by Las Vegas was not a highlight, been there once, not on my list😁. Then it got amazing when we drove over the border into Arizona. Great scenery of a rocky canyon in the Grand Canyon state. This continued into St George, Utah. In fact I was surprised by the green I did see and of course loved the mountains as you reach Salt Lake City!
