After enjoying Sunday afternoon in Coeur d’Alene Lisa Marie dropped me off on the trail where I left off yesterday. Today would be another short ride, but completely on a bike path all the way into downtown Spokane Washington. The trail zig zagged through residential areas paralleling the i-90 freeway and closely mirrored the Spokane River. Just reminding me of so many trails back in Michigan. It was hard to imagine that I was so close to a freeway because at times I couldn’t see it or hear it. It seemed like I was out in the middle of nowhere but I was always somewhere. Approximately 15 mi outside of Coeur d’Alene I came to my final border. I entered the state of Washington. This would be the last state on the epic journey across the country. I’m looking forward to reaching the end but there’s still some challenging miles ahead.
Later in the morning I ran into Dave who was riding on the trail and we rode together for the next 10 miles. It was great talking to him and hearing about all of his adventures with him and his wife. We came into Spokane near Washington State University or Gonzaga and we ended up at a small little pizzeria getting some food. Dave would continue back to Coeur d’Alene where I would go a few miles to my hotel for the evening. These trails were filled with people, walkers, bikers, moms, and babies. I can see why this is such a popular area.

Today I drove Norm back to Coeur d’Alene where he would be riding all day on the trail so I was on my own😁. This meant either I go back to the hotel and wait. Or I could drive the scenic whatever😂. You should know by now what I picked! Mapped a route going north towards the Canadian border. Decided I would stay inside the US this time😉. Drove up to Sandpoint, Idaho. A cool little town that reminded me of Lexington, Michigan just much bigger. Lots of people walking and bike trails. I then came into the town Albeni Falls, which is the border town of Idaho and Washington. I stopped to look at the dam. This time the picture shows its a real dam not like the previous one in Montana. Then as I drove further north all the way to Tiger, Washington I again was surrounded by mountains and trees. Then I drove full circle around this beautiful river Pend Orielle which reminded me of the Upper Peninsula but with mountains for background. Can’t get enough of this beautiful creation of Gods! Made it back to a relaxing dinner with my best friend😁
