After calling the audible we spent the first day driving west and south into the town called Redding. I got somewhat of a preview of one of my option rides when I return leaving Missoula and heading towards Coeur D’Alene. As we were headed south toward Redding, the Park Fire smoke began to fill the air and caused us some concern. That fire up until that point, had consumed about 350,000 acres which is bigger than the city of Los Angeles. Because of the volume of people being evacuated, we were lucky to find a hotel room that night. The next morning we decided to go to Bethel Church. I have wanted to go there for quite some time. I love their music, and just wanted to see what that church was about from the inside. It’s very different from the church that I attend. But I loved seeing the artistic slant with the music, the graphics, and the dance. The music was amazing and the message was completely on point. Lisa Marie and I enjoyed the experience. From there we followed a twisty canyon road west to the coast. Just prior to arriving on the coast, you could see the clouds settling over the shoreline. It went from high 80s to 60 degrees in a matter of miles. Tomorrow we will head into the Redwood National Park.
